He’ll have it tougher against Stanfield. They need to step it up a bit and he needs a decent light.

this class will replace pro stock and soon and the cost to play is already high and going higher. The top cars are 300,000+.

EXACTLY why that isn't going to happen ...... more expensive and slower ..... no Bueno

Then figure in the 24 race schedule that NOBODY wants to see. (except the engine builders)

.

NHRA Pro Stock..........now on a no CARB diet.

Fred, I respectfully disagree and have been told that certain teams have already been told. Look at the some of names that are now competing in this class. Slower yes, but they look like cars you can buy from the dealer. Besides, pro stock is slower than pro mod which is now the fast and exciting door car class.

First ..... no problems disagreeing on subject. Smile

I interact with quite a few teams ...... have heard nothing like that, and many I have talked to have absolutely no desire to do so. IMO you are thinking with your heart ... not your wallet

Professional classes are all about $$$$, not the kind you can win but the kind you incinerate. Luckily we have a handful of gentlemen that are willing to spend millions of dollars every year with absolutely no chance of ROI to do something they are very passionate about. These kinds of people are very rare.

If made the "new Pro Stock" the class will get much more expensive ..... tuners/engine builders/drivetrain specialists/fly in help/traveling expenses/etc. You are going to need to find 20-25 guys willing to spend million$ a year to run a class not discernable from Super Stock (other than the expenses).

Best thing that can happen is to limit races per year and not make it a "Pro" class. Just like the Hemi Shootout class ....... could very easily escalate into disaster if not kept in check (Sportsman).

As always ...... just my two cents from the pits

.

Hey you're on the ground, just repeating what I've been told by some that already compete in that class and this class too has a handful of gentlemen that are willing to spend whatever it takes to be competitive every year with absolutely no chance of ROI to do something they are very passionate about.

Bottomline is FSS is exciting to watch, running very impressive times in cars that look just like what you can buy from the local dealer. Pro stock on the other hand, boring, nothing like production cars and not the quickest/fastest door cars on the property at an NHRA event.

Whether FSS replaces it or not, it's clear the Big 3 and the NHRA are invested in it's success and that pro stock is dead.

I don't know if it will replace Pro Stock but I can say that my friends have spent a dollar or two to compete. Luckily they have it to spend.

Really proud of them, great run for first time out.

And not even remotely close to stock yet they claim stock. All technology that came from Pro Stock. Besides the ; Will you drive it home today price.... it will take another 50-75K to make it competitive. I like the retro look and the cars are cool but not even close to PS. PM has a better chance.

Pro Mod is where it's at ....... lots of different body styles, new and old, 3 different power adders, lots of technology, 30+ cars fighting for 16 spots, 4 rds of qualifying now, race on Sunday with the big show now ...... should I go on? Smile

clapping
