This past Sunday morning, Stock was running first round at Ennis. When everything went quiet, the PA guy started talking about something dramatic in the starting line area. SC was in the lanes, so we finally went to see what was up.
A car in the left water box had launched multiple pieces of what seemed to be flywheel/ring gear into and THROUGH the car in the right lane. One piece went through the rocker panel. Another passed THROUGH the car completely 2 feet off the ground about 6-8 inches behind the driver. It left a hole the size of a quarter, going out through the passenger window, on an upward trajectory.

This was the most intense, sobering event in my 40 years racing. It just wasn't this fellas day to die. They rolled the failed car into the garage, but NOTHING has been said anywhere about this?
Has this been discussed somewhere?

RIP

But at the Ghetto races they have 53 people crowed around the car while staging.........

What could possibly go wrong?

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I learned about it here, and there are a couple pics of the damage:

Wild deal, for sure. Could have been extremely ugly.

Scary situation. Don't see how that could happen unless the flexplate was cracked or otherwise damaged before beginning the burnout.

If you'd seen some of the cars they let down the track at Immokalee when I was in florida, you'd crap yourself....there were cars there that wouldn't even be allowed in the gate and any other track.....hack jobs from hell, no safety gear except for maybe a cheap motorcycle helmet.....and the list goes on....

Do not say that it thinks you are serious.

Oh I am serious Curly...1320exracer said the guy had a Chinese pos in his car is why it failed. Now since he knows that for a fact he must know everything.....
Remember he only posts helpful facts and truth based on his years of experience.
So if ediot says he had a Chinese junk flexplate by damn it's a FACT and the truth.
Well.... unless ediot is full of shyt and a liar....Or he knows it all....which is it ediot?

Buy a Meziere flex plate, unless you forget to bolt it to the crank it'll never be a problem.

No, Mexico.
I can say with first hand knowledge they're just junk. warped and welded by toddlers.
I raised hell on Summits review sight. they refused to post it at first. I called the bluff and they posted it. Then without saying anything they refunded my credit card.
I posted the same review on TCI's review page. That got a phone call from them the next day offering me another one. I refused knowing it'd be another piece of junk.
I bought an ATI. It was only 9 ounces heavier and a quality piece.
I've purchased everything from meter reader cars and marked cars to fire apparatus and I shouldn't have let the price of a $125 piece send me into orbit like that. The lesson is buy local, state, and country in that order. You'll be happy you did.
