The AS (Auto Start) was in effect as noted on the bottom of the time slip. Also the 10.0 is the time allotted for auto start which is also noted on the bottom of the time slip (last number). I'm not sure about Compulink but there is not delay with Accutime for the tree to drop after the allotted pre set time, in which 10.0 seconds is what it was set to at D42.

Carl Drake and I had this before and I know Will and Megan Lotts had it at US131. I've seen it at Huntsville but not very often as they have their "time out" auto start set to 15.0 seconds so usually everyone gets in by then.

I raced on Accutime last weekend. At the bottom is says AS 0.6 1.5 15.0 TO 1.0

So I get auto start and 15seconds to auto start, what else is it telling me?

First time is minimum time bulb needs to be on for stage lock, second time is minimum time for tree to fire after four bulbs lit (stage lock activated) so the first two times should be added together for minimum time for free to fire after the initial fourth bulb comes on from what I am told. If first two settings are .7 and 1.1 then if it should be 1.8 seconds from the initial break of the fourth beam minimum time to fire.
I am told accutime fires quick every time if last person to stage is late staging.

Quaker City will tell you the settings are set as per IHRA bracket finals settings but your time slip will read otherwise, it has 20 for last number which is the timed out number. I was actually going to test out that last number this weekend by having somebody time me while I waited for it to time me out. Keystone also will quick fire you if you go in late and is also accutime.

So how much different was it lane to lane in Reaction time, 60 Ft and Et? I was there the week before and it was screwed up then. Curious to see what everyone else was getting so that I can compare. I am still trying to sort out a new to me car....

Thanks

So there's no confusion I'm pretty sure there is no stage loc there. Maybe what you meant to say was that that's the amount required to active the time.

Also I'm pretty sure that when it's changed in the system that, that's what is shown on the bottom of the ticket. Many classes are guided by a different setting and this can be set up individually in the system. Say for instance you are running a Super Class and Brackets the same weekend, you can have the classes set up with their own individual settings for tree activation and this would show on the bottom of the slip.

US131 was the 1st Accutime track to have their version of stage loc and it was only ran on the first day. The time slips show AS at the beginning indicating it.

Was there ever a reason explained as to why US131 turned the stage loc off after the 1st day?

I don’t know if they have stage lock or not, I assumed they did and have raced there twice but am not sure on stage lock. What I stated above is what was explained to me by other racers and tracks. I tried to find an email address for accutime to ask them about these issues and another weird issue but couldn’t find an email and I have had hearing so I don’t do phone calls for such things that I want to be sure I hear right.

I just went through my logbook for this year and have attended 16 days of events at Darlington, Cedar Falls, Byron, and US 131. In 49 elimination runs I red lighted 3 times with -.0006, -.0005 and -.001 reaction times.

At the SFG D42 four day event this weekend I RL every 2nd rd with -.0237, -.0087, -.0146, -.0120 .

Before they changed the rollout in the Left lane at Fridays re-start of the race, I had 1.065 delay for Left lane and 1.030 for Right.

Imho , I don’t believe you could accurately sort out a car for RT with that tracks (D42) timing system.

Ok I just read IHRA rulebook and I guess I should say the stage minimum which is how long you have to be in the beams before it recognizes you as staged.
I was at the ACE race in June and running same delay in both lanes. I went .001 red in one lane then next run (double entered) went .0009 red in the other lane so they were both close in June’s race.

My Mother always to this day say's you can't look back, only look forward.

That being said it's good to hear and I was told yesterday that the Ace Ohio Promotions group has hired Rusty from Accutime and he has been scheduled to come to D42 next week to completely go over the system and track set up.

Again you can't go back, but this should be music to the ears of the racers who race up that way as it's a beautiful facility.

I would love to hear directly from Accutime how it’s supposed to work. I don’t think the system is adding the stage minimum and minimim time to fire onto the end when someone stages late.

Instead of second hand news (here), perhaps ACE should post on their FB page that Accutime is scheduled to certify that the timing system at D42 is in fact working correctly and when this work is complete.

News of last weekends SFG event “Fiasco” travels fast.

In the entire land that a drag strip resides, there are two important things: The integrity of the people, and the integrity of the timing system. I am shocked at the lack of attention that at least one of these gets at some racing facilities. A racer gets burned by this once, and not only is he soured....all others are soured. If there is anything in life that a person or a business, especially a race track, needs to protect, it's their integrity.

In my understanding of autostart, most of which comes from my time as a starter at our home track. The staged to start.delay is not activated if one lane gets timed out. I hope I worded that correctly.
