Did you hear about the big staging duel in Pro Stock?

Bruno Massel VS
Mason McGaha

This is the first time Massel and McGaha have faced each other in eliminations.

They both pre-stage...then nobody wants to go in. Finally Brad the starter tells them to go in and we wait. He tells them again and neither driver makes a move. Finally the NHRA makes the decision they are both DQ'ed for not following the Officials order.

Mess with the Bull you get the horns. While it may have been legal when the starter says go in and you refuse then you accepted the responsibility for your actions.

I believe the rules do not say anything about staging duels but it does say something like the starter has the ultimate authority to run the race and they were told and refused. Some of the fans may have liked the staging duel, I like that he kicked them out.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

They should be grateful that the starter wasn't Buster Couch, no sense of humor and I do mean none.

LMAO

"I don't agree with the ruling," Massel said. "We are here to race, let us race. [The fans] want to see a burndown, They want to see stuff. They want drama. You just took it away from us. It's a shame. I work for this company. That's a shame though."

You don't make the rules. He must be special for a Newbee to PS...

I agree it shouldn’t be an issue but would they have done it to Greg and Erica? Good question and I bet it would have been handled different. Can’t say they are nobody’s ? They qualified and went rounds...I watched, thought it was fine but didn’t expect the toss. Bruno is correct BTW. Let them race! More sportsman watch Pro Stock than TF or the Coupes.. My bet there is there will be a time assigned now for second bulb to make it fair.....for all.
I’m sure TV time played into it and being new to the game...no you can’t play the game yet kids...

I watched Stock qualifying highlights instead, nobody got DQ'd before the race even started.

Some fast small tire Stockers out there. Current model Camaro, I presume LS engine. Pretty entertaining class.

My Nova has been 7.86 1000ft.

Maybe send them to the back of the line for a time out. If they aren't the back of the line. I can do without the drama.

TV is the reason they were sent to the house. If there were no time consideration they would have been sent to the back of the line.

Someone sitting at home watching calling them nobodies. LOL

I've lost all my respect for Bruno after this stunt. It's bad enough they're holding up the program, but to make a statement saying the fans want to see the 'drama' Bruno has taken the falsely created drama from his TV programs into the real world and there's no place for it.

Play silly little games, win silly little prizes.

I would hope he would do the same to anyone else who did it. Rules SHOULD be the same for all and they should be enforced the same.

Wrong Bruno's comments are dead on! the drama is why street outlaws and it's spinoff shows are so popular. But again, no one cares about nor watches pro stock!!!

Create a rule that says the car that does NOT have lane choice will get motioned in first by the starter after 30 seconds, or whatever. Problem solved.
