Thought I would pass along a little info.
As some here know I have been having issues getting a aluminum block repaired, but have bought a new replacement while waiting.
I just ordered a set of pistons for the new block.
They are from Diamond, blower piston, gas ported with pin fit, that's it. Eight pistons 1800.00..
Last set I ordered maybe 8 months ago was Wisco, twelve pistons, gas port, moly coating, gapless rings, and pins, 2500.00.
Most piston manufacturers are out to 12-14 weeks, Diamond was quickest (reason for going with them) was at 4 weeks and cost me an additional 100.00 over others.

This is just FYI as another price hike is expected.

Not complaining (well maybe a little, lol)

Dave

$100.00 expedite fee. I wonder what it would cost me to get ahead of you? LOL

I am joking about it but in 2013/2014 our company had it largest years ever. We were so far behind that companies were willing to pay whatever it took to get moved to the front of the line. I wouldn't do it because of what it would have cost me in the long run if Mobil/Exxon or BP Petroleum would have found out I allowed someone ahead of them. I have never thought that was a good business practice.

Good luck on your new build David.

I can dig it, took so long I almost lost interest in doing it.

I was about ready to kick it out as clutter!

Pistons were gorgeous when they finally showed up though, so glad I didn't.

Smooth em off real good OP.

I think I have everything now for the 50204 Lunati 496.

These are actually nice, machined & assembled in Tennessee, all Manley.

PAC springs, retainers, locks and PC seals added, they'll be super nice.

Decent power too. Can't wait to shake the dyno... 496.

Diamond told me 4-6 weeks and had them in 4 weeks. These are custom blower pistons I have ordered in the past. MGP/Manley told me 8-10 on my Aluminum rods, got them in 8 weeks. Mahle/Clevite engine bearings in stock at Summit. Total seal piston rings in stock at total seal and also purchased thru Summit.

Not an expedite fee. That was the difference in cost between Diamond and JE.

Gotcha, I read it as costing the $100 additional to be the quickest. Sorry.

Well helped decide on new bigger pistons with lot more compression for second motor. 12.5 at 4.310 it is. Then extra power just wasted in bracket racing anyway.LOL
