Anyone attempted to paint the inside of their trailer? My trailer is covered with the standard white "vinyl" covered sheets of luan and it is about 10 years old now. Minor trash here and there from use, but overall in okay shape. Figure to clean it before painting and probably paint it white again.
Any suggestions on type of paint? |

Walmart and Meijer sell some stuff called Krud Cutter in the painter department it works awesome to clean it up before hand.

I had some paneling that had the plastic or vinyl coating on it. I painted one wall and decided I better wait and see how it holds up. After about 5 days I was able to take my fingernail and peel long sections of paint off the walls ! I ended up taking it all off with a paint scraper and then used a sander and scuffed up the surface. Painted it again and it's good now.

Perhaps try lightly belt sanding any bad, oily/dirty areas. I painted my new bare wood interior with semi-gloss exterior paint. Definitely go white to help brighten up the interior, with or without lights. A sealer would help.
I lucked out by going to my local landfill. People bring their unneeded paint, as well as other chemicals, and the usable stuff was sorted and kept for others to use. But that was several years ago. When I went earlier this year, there was very little stuff available. |
