Does anyone purchase race car parts off of Amazon? Or do you just go direct or to the big online speed shops?

I've bought from Amazon. I needed a baseplate for a Holley carburetor and they offered it at the best price, Holley part and easy return if I didn't want it.

I never have bought race parts off of Amazon, but my buddy did. The part was cheaper than Jeg's, when it showed up it had been shipped directly from Jeg's.

Why do you ask, 2doggs racing??????

I shop summit, jegs and amazon. I have found that there is very little price difference between the three. I look at delivery speed more than price. I have found that depending on the model, amazon is $40-50 dollars less on some of the msd pro billet distributors. I usually get same day from summit with ontrac if I order early enough in the morning to make the truck from Reno to Vegas.

A friend of mine has an account with Motor State, and the prices I have seen in the past were absolutely amazing compared to the regular names I see on here.

Yes I have many times and always check them for prices and have had a time or two when the price from Amazon was far better.

Any issue with a return is never a problem....

I found a national backordered set of ARP head studs on Amazon.
I've gotten a few other items as well.

I always check Amazon pricing for everything I purchase online and have bought car parts from them. I use Google to find others offering same products to include RockAuto and ebay.

Jeg’s sold to small shops under the Buckeye Sales name and I called them direct for parts.
I just got a cam from Jeg’s and it had the Buckeye Sales name on it. Cheaper than anyone else and less than a week to get and it came direct from Comp Cams

The worst part was Jeg’s might list something cheaper than from Buckeye ! A small speed shop near us saw that a time or two and he bought from Keystone like everyone did…..Joe Amato. Was quite a few suppliers back in the day. Not no moe ! Lol

Easy return process, free shipping with Amazon. I've bought JEGS and SPEEDWAY through Amazon if it's free shipping.

Whoever has the best price including fees/shipping. SUMMIT/NICKLE'S, JEGS, SPEEDWAY, Amazon. It don't matter/unbiased.

Best price + delivery time wins.

I have never looked for or bought a race car part from Amazon. I buy primarily from Summit or directly from the race part manufacture

I usually buy from Summit, RBS superchargers, Amazon, Ebay or direct on some things. A lot of things on Amazon or Ebay come from Jegs or Summit.

-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Summit, part manufacturers, other online sources and as often as I can my LOCAL SPEED SHOP. Very few of those now. At my speed shop if it is something that he gets direct he's pretty competitive.

Just ordered and received a set of BBC Ferrea inconel exhaust valves from Amazon, better price than anywhere else, in stock, and received them quickly. Most other places were out of stock.

I needed wilwood brake pads last year, no one had them. I searched the part number, came up on amazon. The price was ridiculous, but I needed them and they had them.

Beware, It is real easy to sale counterfeit parts on the jungle website, just because the box says the name brand on it doesn’t always mean it is made by that company. Check see who the seller is often times it is coming from some of the larger wholesaler for Jegs, Summit or Motor-state. If it’s coming from them then it is likely a legit part. If it's not beware.

Ran out of stator bushings to finish one of my powerglide builds, summit and jegs, $5.00 + $12.00 shipping,(unless I buy an extra $100.00 worth of stuff to get free shipping, LOL) $12.00 from amazon, and free shipping. Basically save the $5.00 by buying from amazon.

All the time. Usually it arrives faster and with no shipping charge. It has gotten to the point where it's not always about the money... sometimes Amazon may be a few bucks more but whatever I need is literally waiting for me on my doorstep 2 days later. I like to buy local but Amazon has made it REALLY hard not to use them with fast free shipping, great customer service and excellent prices.

I like to buy from my engine builder. However, he's so darn busy lately I hate to bother him with my needs. I would stop by now and then but, as soon as I walk in the door work stops and I feel guilty about that. So, I've ordered some stuff from Summit. I'll get from the manufacturer if I can, especially dated safety equipment.
I'll have to look at Amazon some more.
