Updated flyer with a picture of the giant $40K Eagle trophy.

Shown next to a national event NHRA Wally for scale.

I LOVE these things, and we can't wait to award one to a very deserving champion!

That's for sure! We can't wait to have one of our doorcar specialty events in warmer weather!

You remember your way to the winner's circle? Remember, this one's at Piedmont, don't run over a cone, and back up all the way from the finish line to the winner's circle. Wink Cool

Good times!

For nearly a decade, one of our racers' favorite events has been the American Doorslammer Nationals in late November each year. If there's one thing we wish we could improve about that race, it would be the temperature... and we've done just that by adding a second Doorcar specialty event, in MAY! Last October, we announced the Summit Racing Equipment Super Doorcar Challenge was coming to Piedmont Dragway, May 17-19, 2019. We set the bar with an incredible $40,000 to Win main event, bookended by a pair of great-paying $10K's!

The weekend entry for two $10K's and a $40K is just $475. Coupled with strong payback from the top all the way down to huge round money starting with 3rd round winners, Loose Rocker provides a great value for your hard-earned dollar. It's important to us to pay back strong so that you can go some rounds and quickly pay off your weekend, or a good chunk of it, so you can afford to go race somewhere else the following week, and the week after that, or attend another Loose Rocker event later in the year. That makes our sport sustainable. And with only 1 round of Re-Entry, we put you closer to the money -- whether there's 200 cars or 350 cars, it will only be a 9 Round race. (The November race is typically around 270-280 cars) Add in thousands of dollars worth of round prizes from our many outstanding sponsors, and a fair, fast-paced, efficient program at a well-loved track, and you've got the Loose Rocker experience!

Doorcars and left-hand steer roadsters, come one, come all... As always, there's NO pre-entry - just pay at the gate! We look forward to awarding these Big Checks and Loose Rocker Eagle trophies May 17-19, 2019 at Piedmont Dragway, the Doorslammer Capitol of the World!

Time flies! We're just 2-1/2 weeks away from the biggest Doorcar big money bracket race of the year! The American Doorslammer Nationals presented by McCarty Auto Parts draw huge numbers each year. We're excited to see everyone at the Doorslammer Capital of the World, Piedmont Dragway in Julian, NC, for the spring edition with warmer temps and even more money up for grabs with the $40K Summit Racing Equipment Super Doorcar Challenge!

Who is going to earn the $40K Eagle Trophy and the Big Check?

ATTN: RACERS! Thursday is not part of the Loose Rocker event: it is Piedmont Dragway's "Big Dog Shootout" night, so please be aware of the different parking options for Thursday:

The front asphalt section next to the staging lanes is reserved parking for Big Dog class competitors. Once the show is over on Thursday and those spots are vacated, Loose Rocker racers may park there.

Racers arriving after 9PM on Thursday may come in and park at no charge. Gates will be open all night.

Racers arriving before 9PM on Thursday have the following options:
(1) Enter at Gate 1 (Main Pit Area).
- SPECTATING/PARKING: Piedmont Dragway charges $20/person gate admission
- RACE: Racers may compete in the Outlaw Doorslammer class (6.99-quicker doorcar, E.T. bracket race) The $60 ODS Car & Driver entry fee includes gate admission. For more rules and class information, please visit http://www.piedmontdragway.com/classes-rules/ods/

(2) Enter at Gate 2 (Spectator/Far Side)
- SPECTATING/PARKING: Piedmont Dragway charges $15/person gate admission on this side. When the Big Dog show is over, you may move over to the Main Pit Side of the track to park.

We apologize for any inconvenience!

A number of racers have asked about the Weekend Entry discount policy. There are some folks who can't make it on Friday, and some folks that can't stay on Sunday. Racers may buy a $475 Weekend Entry to run two $10K's and one $40K in any combination:
1) single enter Fri-Sat-Sun
2) double Friday, single Saturday
3) single Saturday, double Sunday
If using one of the latter two options, you MUST inform the staff when purchasing your tech card.
Please note: Tech cards are non-transferable. The discount is applied only to one driver.

Let me add something about Piedmonts Big Dog race for those of you that have not experienced it.....Most of these cars run in the 3s at or above 200mph in the 1/8. And the spectators will have the place full--if you ever thought drag racing couldn't draw a crowd you need to see this. It will surely get you primed for Duckys race over the weekend.

I've done some spectator-directed advertising for this event, so you might even get to race with a few butts in the stands. People in this area really love their doorcars!

There's over $8,000 in prizes to be given away just this weekend at the Summit $40K Super Doorcar Challenge at Piedmont Dragway, not to mention the year-end drawings for a new 28' Vintage Outlaw trailer from Walton Trailer Sales, a $2,500 Gift Certificate from Trick Flow toward a set of cylinder heads, Loose Rocker Gold Cards, PLUS well over $115,000 in payouts just in the main events!

Racers, don't forget to pick up your Summit Racing Equipment decals at Loose Rocker central this weekend, and proudly display them on your car for a chance to win valuable Summit gift cards! It's that easy! Summit Racing Equipment provides a TREMENDOUS amount for our sport on all levels, and has invested in Loose Rocker racers. When you need high performance parts at the right prices along with fast shipping and great customer service, choose Summit! Call 1-800-230-3030, log on to www.summitracing.com, or visit the retail store nearest you.

Watch LIVE this weekend on MotorManiaTV presented by Summit Racing Equipment at www.motormaniatv.com, or the MotorMania TV channel on YouTube.

A couple of young guns drove the wheels off their respective rides in the ATI $10K Warmup of the Inaugural Summit Racing Equipment $40K Super Doorcar Challenge at Piedmont Dragway. Jeff Serra from Pennsylvania earned the lion's share of the $10,000 to win event, along with the Big Check and the Loose Rocker Eagle trophy with a dead-on run against New York's Timothy Fletcher, who broke out by just .001. Shawn Carpenter from North Carolinawas the lone semifinalist. The quarterfinals were Dale Gauthier from Canada, Virginia's Gary Daniel, and Pennsylvania's Chris Mancini.

In Friday's $3,000 to Win, No Buyback Gamblers race, a pair of veterans took the measure of 118 entries. In the semifinals, Tommy Plott downed Gray Kimble, and John Mattera got a respite against a red-lighting Andy Lloyd. In the finals, Mattera had a reaction time advantage, but Plott grabbed the win with a dead 0 run when Mattera broke out by .001.

Saturday, we race for $40,000 to win! 1 Time Trial per entry starting at 9am. Single day $40K entries are $300 and single day Sunday $10K entries are $150, but discount Weekend Entry deals are still available: Single enter Saturday's $40K and double enter Sunday's $10K for only $475, a $125 savings!
