FreddieBuying a new house? Division 2 area
So I was not sure how to word the title, but we have decided to move from the Tampa Florida area and curious as to what area would be considered the best location to be able to attend the most divisional and national events in the southeast? We are currently looking in the Greenville SC area but curious as to if anything else would be more centrally located.

We found a few nice houses around the Pickens / Liberty area. We are thinking of heading up there in the next week or so to check it out.

One of the things we are looking at for sure. I was amazed at how high the tax rates are in some areas.

The BozmanWe may be moving to the Raleigh Durham, NC area fairly soon (will know in a couple of weeks). More in the Holly Springs or Cary area.

ferndaleflyerBoz we had a new house built in Durham couple of years back + we have this one out in the country where we have enough room for all our "stuff". Durham is close to all the good medical places and we are getting old. Grand daughter lives in Raleigh, Step Daughter lives in Apex, and my oldest daughter lives in Fuquay-Varina. a lot depends on where you are going to work.

get outside of Raleigh durham cary if possible. it pretty pricey and loaded with elite liberals.
as far as Greenville sc it is pretty cental for div 2 races. prolly 6 to 7 hours will be longest tow and even more closer for div 2 open races. prolly 3 hours max for opens. 2.5 to 3 for zmax and 1.5 to Atlanta.

maliciousintentFern gave you the heads up. Do your homework, taxes are high, utilities can be higher than what your accustomed to. Also, the weather in the winter sucks.

FreddieThank you everyone. We have decided to look in the Greenville / Anderson SC area. We are headed up in a few weeks to start looking for the right house, with hopes to make the move sometime this summer. From what we can see taxes, and everything are a bit less than what we are paying in Florida. We are not concerned with having to drive anywhere for work as we both work from home or wherever we are. We are actually looking forward to a bit of a slower pace than in the Tampa Fl area.

FreddieNow we just need to find all the local dragstrips and see what racing we can do. We bought a new dragster and it is sitting while we finish the motor and prepare for the move. I hope to make a few passes in it while in Fla just to make sure everything is right before we put it away for the move.

Was thinking more like Atlanta since Commerce is only a little over an hour.

Bruce it was not taken that way at all. We lived in Asheville for years and loved it. We took contracts for our work that moved us to Florida and we stayed a while after the initial contract was over, now we are finishing our latest one and we cant wait to get out of here.

LOL yes, just one of the many reasons we are looking there. Where we are in Tampa it is over an hour to Bradenton, almost 3 to Orlando or Gainsville, then next closest is SGMP at pushing 5 hrs. Dont mind the ride.
