Your neighbor or coworker knows you drag race and asks "How did you do?
Did you qualify?"

You respond by saying that you went too fast and got disqualified from the event.

That’s the rule and ALL that enter to race that class knows the penalty for running too quick.

I know. There is just some irony there about entering a drag race and being disqualified for going too fast.

Its sucks for Tom but all of us who have cars that can run under 6.00 know its the rule, we don't like it but have to abide by it like any other rule.

Culligan guy was delivering water to the house, and I had the Volare there.

"Nice car. Hey, do you watch Street Outlaws?"

Well, a couple times, but it's not really my thing... Hey, you know John Doe?

"Oh, YEAH!"

I ran him in the finals at Belle Rose, LA at 3 o' clock in the morning one year.

"D'ja beat him?"

Hell, yeah.

"Awright!"

Cool

(Scott Taylor's actually a badass bracket racer, multi-time track champ, before he got into the heads-up stuff)

More than just an arbitrary rule though, it's a serious safety concern. Having a safety team equipped to handle 200+ MPH incidents is waaaaaaayyyyyy different than your average bracket event crew.
The way crash forces exponentially increase with MPH, I think it's a sensible rule, with real teeth.

I saw an interview with him once and they asked him why heads up racers always dog bracket racing and his response was epic " well...it's because they suck at driving " Big Grin

He11 explaining bracket racing to anyone outside of the sport is PIA. With street outlaws being only exposure for eom. They do not get concept of racing where its all about driver and consistency of the car. They have no idea what a .005 package is even after you expalin it.

Now telling them you went too fast in a sport thqat claims to be king og speed. No thanks
