By the time this is all over with 4 - 5 years from now, 100's of millions will be dead, not from covid, but from depression, starvation and poverty.

Seems like the only tool they own is a hammer, so of course every problem looks like a nail. Meaning controlling the entire population. That approach is not giving the desired result virus wise. So change the damn approach! The population has made clear what it is and is not willing to do. Shaming and arresting them won't make the approach more effective. A little more thought about how to do this differently in the United States would go a long way IMO.
