No but it's easy to get a 50% discount. Get 2x the strength and cut them in 1/2. Been doing that for years.......

most Dr's will do that...if you ask

Why not switch to an alternative statin drug that is available as a generic such as zocor, mevacor, or pravachol. All are on the $4 dollar list. But I believe Lipitor will be going generic in the near future.

The combination product is called Vytorin, it consist of zetia and zocor. It will still cost you a brand name copay and may even have to be prior authorized by the insurance. I deal with this on a daily basis. No one can say for sure which statin is the best, b/c it truely depends on the individual. It depends on which study you look at. Crestor & Lipitor have the least amount of issues causing muscle pain. But if cost is an issue any of the other will be okay.

capri man, there is a list of over 300 commonly used medications that walmart offers a month supply for $4.00. I own 2 independent pharmacies and we honor walmart's list plus many others for $4 for a month supply(or 90 day supply for $10). Ask your local independent pharmacy about this offer. Walgreens, CVS and others charge a monthly or yearly fee for these medications.

Please support your local independent pharmacies; many times you will be shocked at how much cheaper they offer medications than retail pharmacies.

Amen to that. If you have a $5 copay see what happens at the big boys if the drugs are under $5. Bingo! They rip you for the full $5. It's not a lot of coin but, I consider it theft. At my local druggist if the medication is $3.75 that's what I pay.

Thats funny you say that b/c the mg of the statin and zetia are on the bottle (i.e. vytorin 10/40) 10 mg of zetia/ 40mg of zocor. I wouldn't want to go to any doctor that doesn't know the strengths of medications.
