Has most of the bracket racing programs in North East Texas faded away? Rare to see anyone speak of it anymore. I have fond memories of racing Friday Saturday and Sunday back in the day. Looks like the South East US has it going on.

Xtreme in Ferris has an IHRA program as well as index. Pine Valley and Paris also. Most DFW area bracket racers go to Ardmore or Abilene. The Motorplex has several big money events but they punked out on weekly bracket races for reasons unknown.

The DFW area went from five tracks with a bracket program down to one track with a once a month race program at the new IHRA track at Ferris, TX. Even the Motorplex at Ennis that gets to host the Division 4 Bracket finals doesn't have a bracket program. Therefore no team in the bracket finals. I used to live within an hours drive to 5 tracks, 3 NHRA and 2 IHRA tracks and that's not counting two really outlaw tracks. These days it requires a drive over 100 miles one way to race at an track to qualify for a NHRA bracket team for a bracket finals held practically in my back yard. It's really sad because we have a ton of quality bracket cars in this area.

This is the first Bracket Race at the Motorplex next year. Lots of great bracket racing there this year also as I ran 12 Bracket races, all over 10k and all moneys were paid as advertised. Great car counts and great competition.

Be interesting to see how the BF goes this weekend at the Plex, from what I heard the only track with a full team is Ardmore. The last 2 years it has been won by tracks with pay to play big money bracket hitters that don't race any local programs but buy there way on for the BF.

I was just sorting some old notes and came across the 2017 Motorplex schedule. The list of events included 11 bracket races. I had a checkmark by each date.

I am not saying the rules are being enforced, because they probably aren't , however:

4.Drivers must have competed in the NHRA Summit ET Racing Series program at their team track during the current year, at a minimum of two separate events (NO EXCEPTIONS). Bring Proof if necessary (Track and Racer).

5.A team protested and proven to have competitors that did not participate at their facility at the minimum 2 Summit ET Bracket events, will be prohibited from participating the following year.

6.A Racer representing a track at which you did not compete twice (2 Summit ET points events) during the year will be disqualified from event, loss of any earned points, and loss of team spot.

Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Never have been enforced in the past, why would they start now

Well, it appears these things only become an issue when the wrong person does any actual winning. Have any of these "bought in" hitters ever won at this particular bracket finals event? Think there is a fairly good potential they might do so again in 2019? Take care. Tom Worthington

I think it was enforced a few years back against Rockingham for letting racers buy their way in. I remember Danny Bastinelli from Delaware running for a team in Cannada--more than once.

Amazing. I have never heard either of those things before. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. The luster sure has fallen off attending Bracket Finals events. Take care. Tom Worthington

Times have changed. We had ONE person interested in going to the bracket finals. So that’s what we’re sending, one car.

We just got a new bracket manager a week ago. I really hope he can turn things around starting next year. We have the premier track that doesn't hold a national around here and can't draw more than 20 cars for super pro or no-e.

Very few of our racers went to the bracket finals. I couldn't go for personal reasons this year.
