here the thing, I have seen the other car pull thru the lights and go red. This is not FAIR, because i seen him do it, if i seen that now it would cause me to back off and not go red. SOOO we need a wall between the cars so the drivers can't see each other, it's the ONLY way it will be "fair".

we can call it the "Fair Start Wall"

My understanding is that neither driver will see any redlights until both cars have left the beams. Then, and only then, the "worst" redlight comes on. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

What you are saying is so ridiculous that I can't tell if you are serious. BUT, years ago I would always notice cars in the other lane doing stupid stuff after staging, so I taped up my helmet shield so I couldn't see that anymore.

Maybe that will help you out.

I would be curious to see what the statistics are for tracks that are running it where it would have changed the outcome of the race.

Was looking though my logs, and with 632 elimination rounds over the last 5 years, trustart would have came into play 7 times, 3 of which it would have changed the outcome.

It happened 2 times in box, and it would have changed the outcome on both runs

It happen 5 times in nobox, but the outcome would have changed 1 time. I would expect this to tick up a bit when in use as you react after you see the red.

Where box you reacted before you see the red. I would expect to see it less in box as you wont have people trying to hit the bump down after you see the other guy bulb it to take a shot at the bye.

So it would effect 1% of my races and change the outcome .4%

While I agree that it more fair this way, the impact will be minnimal.

minimal or not, in the last 3 years i have lost (2) races because of it one of them was an expensive round to lose. All of the tracks around here use it so it is normal for us.

No that was sarcasm, I was just commenting on trying to make things "fair". Let's face it everyone makes choices that lead to advantages and disadvantages. This is true in racing and in life. A doorcar can't see as well as a dragster is that "fair"? A dragster can run a larger tire then a doorcar is that "fair"?

everyone gets the same rule book and gets to decide whether they want to spend the money for a "advantage" or not. I just wondering what the next step will be in order to be "fair".

Joe,

I view it differently than some. I don't see it as a change to be FAIR exactly. I see it to be a change to the right way to do it. The only reason that it wasn't always done this way is because I believe the computing power wasn't available at the time to do it this way. The right way.

Had they been able to do it the correct way in the beginning nobody would think anything at all about how we handle redlights. Now it is a correction of what was done wrong in the first place.

I footbrake race and am most often leaving second. I have always thought that we handled redlight wrong even though it benefits me. Many times when someone redlights beside me I catch it out of the corner of my eye and I will be late so it really is a benefit to me how it is now.

With TruStart, redlights (if applicable) are not shown until after both cars have left.

Michael

the point of the sarcasm was I have seen transbrakes fail and the car roll the lights. In order to make it "fair" I should not be able to see my competitor make an obvious mistake.

So what is next? Spec bodies like NASCAR because it's "fair" or spec tires? we all read the same rulebook and decide what to do, now some people after reading the rules want to change them.

It's not the rule itself, it's people not accepting their own choices and whining about it.

I must assume the green light still comes on .5 after the last yellow for the slowest car regardless of their r/t and the light changes from green to red after the faster car leaves (in the case of the slower car being more red)? If the faster car is more red the red light just comes on as normal?

Is that how it works?
