this is why if you don't have a delay box with a transbrake lockout, you have a duel button setup, where both buttons must be pushed before the transbrake engages.

stupid waste of a race car.

She didn't take out the tree this time so she probably considers it a clean run.

I used to have one of those (clean records) but it's amazing what oil and grease sweep will do for you when you just have rear wheel brakes!

If you do not use a delay box to lock out the TB during a run you do not need a dual button system. MSD Grid can control this TB lockout function during the run.

I’m not putting this all on her. Yes she was the driver but relocating the trans brake button, one that had no TB lock out feature was obviously a mistake.

These are very difficult cars to drive, it’s not exactly a car that anyone can drive. I can understand accidently hitting the button as something that could have happened to anyone. It’s not like no one else has ever put a Pro Mod into the wall.

I made two critical mistakes that put my son upside down in our car. (1) I misjudged the track conditions too early in the day, (he was in the second pair out) and it got out from under him. (2) It involved a significant power increase. This accident was all on me, he unfairly caught the blame for my poor judgement and mistakes. That involved two years of work and an $11,000 error.

Lizzy found herself in that similar situation, I feel badly that the car was wrecked (it can be fixed) but glad she was not injured. I have no illusions that I could drive a Pro Mod so I’m not going to be a critic.

Saw a car dead in the water box at Carolina awhile back causing him to miss the re-entry, $400, round. Problem was he hit line lock switch by mistake and thought brakes had locked up. Its called a mistake!

Back before anyone had lockous on transbrake .I had one with button in shifter knob pop out and have split second short. Car almost came to complete stop, wire moved and car took off again. The guy I was racing shut off thinking I was dead in water.I passed him and took the round.

Funny thing this was right after the throttle stops had came out and cpl guys had won big races doing almost that same thing, but with stop. Man I caught hell for that for while.Got called Bob Jr. for while. Bob Harris was one of those who had used stop to do it.

It could happen to anyone, good reason to have a lock out or another button as safety,No matter how good you are.

Maybe it’s time to take the brake off the wheel and mount it close or at the shifter. If a car does get out of the groove for whatever reason, the likelyhood of accidentally hitting the trans brake is too great. JMHO...

Sad waste... all changes should had be clearly marked before she got in the car, And testing of all new changes should have been tested and tested again before the car hits the track... That's what my one man operation does, I have no the blame but me if something goes wrong and I will be paying for the mistake... And I'm sure most of us are in the same boat...

So, what gear was the car in when she hit the button? Mine does nothing in high gear.

Think it Depends on trans and valve body. Some 400's have brake in second gear.

transbreak delay for right after the hit through the rest of the run. have it come off at teh time you think you may go through the finish line. that way if it is run away motor you can hit it and it activates the two step, not brain science. think about this when you build a 175K car and put a kid in the car that has no understanding of what it takes to put one of these cars together.
