It is fun chasing down a huge spot and I would still hate to hit another car but I would hate hitting any car slower or not.

P.S. Green1 I've been racing long enough to know I could have done that but I wasn't willing to give up the front half data because it had been a while since anyone went down the track.

You don’t have to give up front half data if you do it right. You already know he can’t come close to his required dial.

Minimum dial in box class is 4.30 I believe in 1/8 and 7.49 maximum if I am thinking correctly so that’s a hell of a spot mph wise. We do have a guy dialing 4.3x regularly so it’s not just a theoretical statement.

Around here most of the tracks run NHRA rules and the Sportsman class is run 1/4 mile 12.00 and slower, I don't know of any maximum limit. Back in the day there were many cars like VW Bugs that ran over 20 seconds.

Seriously? Have you ever watched dragsters race? LOL

I had a guy sideways in my lane in front of me, going 150 to my 70 mph. There's a motorcycle guy in the hospital right now after an on-track incident with a doorcar.

Ben Wenzel, Jr. led the points in Top for awhile this year, footbraking his 10-sec Cavalier at Northern Michigan Dragway.

So make a poll: What is slower, a dragster doing an over the line burnout and backing-up to make their pass, or a 20 second slug doing no burnout and going slowly down the track........ Wink

Who would be in worse shape: The driver in the mini van with no safety gear on, probably not even a helmet, or the guy in the dragster that lost a slick and went under the back of the minivan at 180?

I feel safe in my car should something fast hit me, and for the most part since I race No-Box, I am only 10 to 20 mph slower than the fastest cars in my class.

I didn't say *YOU* were slow. I've watched events that averaged 70 sec per pair on the day.

Yes, Juniors usually take a long time to run.

All of the above bolsters my argument that it is ridiculous to complain about the time it takes to run a handful of slow cars.

Understood, 70 seconds per pair is a long time IMO.

Minivan vs. dragster, I think the dragster would actually fare better. Dragster vs. 3/4 ton Suburban with a heavy duty step bumper, I think I'd rather be in the Suburban. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.
