Hey, how about we keep revenue up and spending down for a few years and actually pay off some debt!?

We absolutely need spending cuts. We also need an increase in revenue, but instead of higher taxes, we need to get government out of the way of businesses so that the economy can actually grow and subsequently provide higher tax receipts.

Only by ignoring all but a single variable does anyone believe that doubling ticket prices at a national event would reap double revenue.

Only if the number of tickets sold were the same.

Texas increased the homestead exemption last night and you would think the schools are going to have to cease TODAY. Property tax in Texas is UNDER ATTACK and the gov types are in a panic. The Texas Governor, Greg Abbot, finally, seems to be for the population instead of for his pocket book which is what we had with Perry and Bush before him.

Mike,
When I worked for the NHRA I asked if doubling the sportsman fee's, license and chassis cert, increased revenue the answer was no. Lost money and participants.

As the CONSERVATIVES keep piling up victories!
The FLEEBAGGERS spent MILLIONS trying to elect a lib to the Virginia Senate to gain control!
Sorry, the CONSERVATIVE is the new Senator!
The CONSERVATIVE paul failed to support against rino mcconnell is the Governor of Kentucky today!
Would you believe the RACIST "war on women" Republicans in Kentucky elected a BLACK women Lieutenant Governor????? I'm positive the compassionate non-racist FLEEBAGGERS have not said a negative thing about her!
The FLEEBAGGERS and the rinos lose again!!!!!

So much for the vaunted claim by the loony lefties that the Taxed Enough Already movement is dead! The Governor of Kentucky is the candidate supported by the Taxed Enough Already contingent!!!!!

The FLEEBAGGERS MOST PROUD ACCOMPLISHMENT in Tuesdays elections was recalling three CONSERVATIVE school board members in the socialist mecca of Denver, Colorado! they were undoubtedly trying to turn the schools into something other then socialist indoctrination institutions!!!!!
The "totus" scrotum hangers on, "totus" has NO testicles, should examine what the queer, lying illegal alien half breed has done to the FLEEBAGGER party?
The rapist caused the FLEEBAGGERS to lose Congress for 14 years, "totus" is going to top that number BY DECADES!!!!!!

TAKE IT TO THE BANK!!!!!

The jebster was right to bash rubio for not doing his Senate job!
rubio missed the vote on the horrendous spending boondoggle!
He most likely had to, if he'd been there his masters would have demanded he support the robbery of the American people and that would have been a political liability for him!!!!!

There is no longer a Republican party as we knew it. It is the New Democrat Party. Leading straight into Socialism as hard as we can go.

When there is no separation, we are doomed.

The rinos and the FLEEBAGGERS are all bought and paid for by the same lobbyists!
Interesting that even after the debacle spending bill that was just passed the "stupid voters" will still claim the FLEEBAGGERS are the party for the downtrodden?
The only people opposing this horrendous bill were 96 republican House members and 35 Senators!
If a few FLEEBAGGERS opposed it it was because there wasn't enough pork to suit them!

While the Democrat candidates are all in a mutual love fest, circling the wagons whenever one of their own is criticized (Hillary's Emails, Benghazi, etc.), our Republican candidates form a circular firing squad when none of them meet their inflexible standards of perfection. A perfect formula for political suicide and Democrat victory. And that philosophy is reflected on this site by so-called "conservatives" living in their fantasy world of no compromise in the futile search for a conservative Republican with Christ-like perfection. If we want conservative Republicans elected, we're going to have to accept the fact that they're going to have to compromise on some conservative principles in order to win. They can't win with just conservative Republican white male votes; they're going to need the support of some disillusioned Democrats, some women, some un-affiliated voters and some minorities. That means they're going to have to compromise on some things to get those votes. Or maybe you would rather see these imperfect Republican candidates defeated just to teach them a lesson? How'd that work out the last two election cycles? Do you seriously think we're better off with Obama rather than McCain or Romney? They weren't perfect either, but they'd been a damn sight better than what we got! Better wake up and start living in the real world. Ronald Reagan was as perfect a conservative as we've ever had and even he had to compromise on some major issues. Do you remember Reagans 11th commandment "Though shalt not criticize your fellow Republicans!" (paraphrased)? It's time to resurrect that directive if we're serious about winning.
Probably the most lasting and impactful legacy of any president are his Supreme Court appointments. Do you think Hillary will appoint anyone conservative? She will probably make two or three appointments and they WILL be just as disastrous as Obamas. At least a Republican president MIGHT appoint conservatives. Keep that in mind next time you're considering your next firearm purchase and don't tell me you'll NEVER give up your guns. When your house is surrounded by two dozen Federal Agents armed to the teeth and you're shivering in your attic with your .223 rifle and your Colt .45, you're GOING to surrender them. Or you'll be dead and your wife will be a widow, your children orphans. You'll do the smart thing and surrender your guns. Bye, bye 2nd amendment but at least you're alive even if you can't defend yourself now. Thanks, inflexible conservatives.
So, now that we conservatives who live in the real political world have faced and accepted some facts of political life, which Republican candidate do we support? Trump, although I like his contempt for political correctness is an unelectable blowhard with no support beyond white male diehard conservative Republicans. The Dems will chew him up and spit him out with a smile on their face. Rubio has a lot of good qualities but looks too young and boyish. Also I have a problem with his "Path to citizenship" ideas for illegals. How about a path to Mexico instead? Jeb Bush is a good man but is the same establishment type guy the voters rejected in the past two General Elections. The rest are all wishful thinkers on the outside of the mainstream, praying for a miracle. Except for Ted Cruz. Cruz has the maturity, the "gravitas", the conservative credentials and the guts to stand up for what's right even though it might not be popular with his fellow (liberal) Republicans.
But for me it's ABC: Anyone But Clinton and I'll support any Republican over the Dem candidate, even Trump!
There. Now I feel better. Smile

SS427IMP,

I agree with ABC, But I figure the issue with conservatives are not so much the idea of a perfect candidate but the issue of no conservative to vote for.. Republicans of almost any stripe are better than a liberal/socialist/communist democrat (they are all one and the same), but a republican of today seems to be more democrat than republican.. My opinion anyway..

I agree Cruz is really the best one for the job, warts and all. But like you I'll support the republican who ever it might be before any of the liberals of the left.

As to the second amendment and the taking of my guns.. I'll let them have the ones they know I have.. lol

We all cling to life, but all it would take at this stage of the game would be for someone to stand up and show the populace it could make changes and there would be an army of participants.. Again my opinion..

Dave

A caveat to my post..

If a civil uprising is to take place the miracle leader had better hurry up. Since the balance has tipped in favor of the takers over the makers, the odds are swinging out of favor..

Although the takers will be out gunned, so there is still a chance...lol

Whoever has the Army will win the insurrection.

Rural areas will become bastions of the free, while the cities will become the lawless places seen in movies such as Mad Max.

If there wasn't a civil uprising when the Supreme Court ordered school children bussed out of their neighborhoods to achieve "racial balance" or whatever the hell the reason was, there will NEVER be a civil uprising over something as vague and amorphous as a political principle. Might as well face it, this country is populated by gutless sheep who are infatuated with the Kardashians and Dancing With The Fags and couldn't care less about American traditions and customs. The majority of Americans have been feminized and liberalized and conservative Americans are now on the outside looking in. Something called "Cultural Diversity" is celebrated almost universally to the degree I frequently feel I'm living in a foreign country or maybe the United Nations building. Best we can do now is try to elect people at least CLOSE to our conservative principles even if they're not our ideal conservative. OR sit back and prepare for at least eight more years of progressive liberalism on steroids.
