Not enough for infra-structure. They should have tacked on another trillion or so for that. IMO.

Those who did not vote GOP have no room to complain. IMO

We're getting fawked again!

$650 million for DTV conversion coupons?
$200 million to rehabilitate the National Mall?
$276 million to fix the computer systems at the State Department?
$650 million to repair dilapidated Forest Service facilities?
$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts?
Pell Grants to 7 million college students?
Protect the health insurance of 8 million Americans?
$87 billion to states for Medicaid family planning services?
$400 million to Social Security to replace its computer system?
$400 million for NASA scientists to conduct climate change research?

This is just the tip of the diick that the Democrats and Obama are slipping to the American people!

Randy must be delirious with joy at what HIS guys are doing to us.

Would love to hear how all the liberals justify this continuation of the rip-off.

So where is the majority of this money going?

There’s $1 billion for Amtrak, the federal railroad that hasn’t turned a profit in 40 years

$2 billion for child-care subsidies

$50 million for that great engine of job creation, the National Endowment for the Arts

$400 million for global-warming research

$2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects

$600 million more for the federal government to buy new cars

$7 billion for modernizing federal buildings and facilities

The Smithsonian is targeted to receive $150 million

$252 billion is for income-transfer payments — that is, not investments that arguably help everyone, but cash or benefits to individuals for doing nothing at all

$20 billion for food stamps

$83 billion for the earned income credit for people who don’t pay income tax

$54 billion will go to federal programs that the Office of Management and Budget or the Government Accountability Office have already criticized as “ineffective”

$4.19 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities” including ACORN

$335,000,000 FOR STD PREVENTION

$650 million for digital TV coupons

$6 billion for colleges/universities — many which have billion dollar endowments

The list seems to grow every day as more and more details of this disastrous bill come out.

The Wall Street Journal has a Rahm Emanuel quote from just last Novenmer that is quite telling:

"Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before".

The $$ need to go to those who stimulate the economy and has for the past 100+ years, the consumer who creates demand! If there is no demand, there is no need for supply! If there is no need for supply, there is no need for labor! Experts are trying way to heard to make simple economics a calculus problem! Put the money in the hands of those that spend it and pay taxes on it, not those who loan it or can figure out ways to avoid having it taxed! Mad Eyes Tongue Cool

BTW... for you math challenged readers:

The above admistrative totals for Section 1107 and 1108 add $233.5 million to budget of these departments on top of what they already spend.

Section 1106 is the porker... that 0.5% is on top the sums allotted to the various "stimulus" expenditures in order to provide management and oversight. Example... there could be as much as an additional $20.95 million spent to manage and oversee the money allocated to groups like ACORN.

How's that make you feel about what your elected representitives are doing with your money.

All George did was get the ball rolling with TARP.

He gave all the money to the rich and crooked.

Obama wants to give it the poor and crooked.

Like what was posted.

dumbya got the ball rolling and thats not twisting the facts.

If we were to go by greggo's ideas in following the Constitution along with no entitlement spending, (which by the way repos do not support) the rich would get richer and the poor would be reduced to even less.
Stock up on guns and ammo.

And it don't even take a rocket scientist to understand. Razz

Bush isn't President anymore is he!?!? And yet, you're going to blame Bush for Obama and the Democrats doubling the deficit in a one years time.

Bush deserves much of the blame for running up the deficit the way it was. And as some of us have stated for years, Bush was a liberal not a conservative. And look at the results... now you've got liberalism on steriods running the show.

I thought the whole point of electing Obama was to turn things around, not make them worse.

And if you think this "economic stimulus" package they are trying to shove down our throats is going to make things better you need to brush up on your history!

Bob, do you feel that all of the provisions in the Stimulus bill are good uses of money with job creation in mind?
