jenavetspitzer top dragster ride quality?
it appears the 272 carbon fiber spitzers make a real nice, lightweight purpose built top dragster but im hearing the ride on them is just horrendous, real bad bouncers.
any experience on these cars and how to tame them?

Big SteveNot saying its the right thing to do but I know someone who cut the back off and put shocks on because of that...
December 26, 2018, 05:26 PM
jenavetya one fellow racer just sold his,he said if there was anytype of bump in the track it just destroyed his back...and another friend just sold his one year old spitzer 272 complaining of how bad the bounce was.

Rumor going around front suspension in addition to the rear suspension conversion is the way to eliminate that.

BP758Question, are the bouncers climbing on the brakes that hard? Car unloading/rebound? No chutes? Track? I’m sure a suspended car would help. The weight/et comes into play but if you are bracket racing weights not an issue or if you have an abundance of HP... I remember some bouncing in my Ron Fry ultra light car but most of the time pretty sure it was me. How do TF and TAD deal with it?

jenavetdoes pulling the chute only help?
December 31, 2018, 02:44 PM
"The Bender"I've run 199+ in the 1/8th, no chute no problem. On the long track chute is a must.

MasRacingI drove one a few year back for someone and didnt notice any issues. Car was smooth. Granted I only went 6.8s in the high 190s in it but no bouncing issues. If Im not mistaken that car was built with the motor up a degree or two similar to a comp car which makes the chassis work great but can be less forgiving in the shutdown. But again I didnt notice it.

sc4087from the burn out box to the finish line mine is the most awesome car I've ever driven. It's smooth and it's fast. Every where else it sux.And last I checked that's where it matters most.
