* Klotz UpLon Alcohol & Gas Top Fuel Lube? *

We haven't run alcohol for many years.

Questions for anyone using this for alcohol in a ProCharger engine:
1. Using the amount detailed on container?
2.Are you "pickling" the engine at the end of a race weekend or just draining all of the lines and the tank?
3. Any other recommendations?

We use 1/2 bottle of top lube per drum. If the car sits for an extended period of time (month or more) we clean the carb. If its running every week or every other week, we have no issues.

4-8 OZ of castor oil to a drum of fuel. Stir before pumping. And i have used every known upper lube to man, and recently switched to castor oil and really like how well it lubes. I even use it with m5.

although I haven't used klotz uplon i know it is a good lube to use. I can't answer other questions. If I didn't have a good synthetic already thats what i would use.what i use is not available to most.also i would use a good synthetic lube of some kind.

Is there an upper limit to avoid mixture wise that results in misfires or preignition?

I need to change up some things with my EFI to prevent buildup in the injectors. Or I am going to have to pull them periodically and clean.

Agree with this using 1 qt Klotz Uplon (synthetic) per drum with EFI the past 2 years. The injector company I use ( FIC ) recommends using fuel lube when using methanol with their injectors.

I don't run injection but I can almost guarantee that you won't with Uplon. Have run it since 2005 and have never had a single issue with it.

Heck, I have never experienced any of the problems I see people post about with methanol other than occasional corrosion on the inside of a fitting. Those would be some of the oldest fittings on the car though. I have used the same uncoated fuel cell that I built for the car in 2007 with no corrosion on it. I always run 1 quart to a drum of fuel.

Funny story that I received a quart of Klotz 2 stroke oil once instead of Uplon and had already put it in the drum before I realized what it was. The bottle was almost identical. It worked great as well. LOL

I wasn't using anything because the jr doesn't like the added oil. Now that we are done in the jr's and now we are efi, I need to change up. I was surprised at how much buildup there was on the injectors when I tore stuff down. Don't want that biting me

The FIC 1000cc injectors using methanol are 2 yrs old and have never been removed. Have used over 6 barrels of fuel with them. There’s 93 octane ( with Klotz Uplon added) in the injection system now from winter and getting ready to drain and switch back to methanol this weekend.
