Must not have had a strong crop of transbrake racers...come on up North and get you some...lol Come on guys...it dont matter if you use a button or swap feet...you're still crackin the same bulb... It doesn;t make much of a difference to me as long as it doesn't involve a box!

Just messin with you guys...and I think Fern just called me out on it... I LOVE footbrake racing! I run a T-brake up here because it is allowed and you can fine tune your leave easier and with much less effort than you can off the foot. I really do NOT think there is an advantage to either style, a good driver can go either way. Dang it, I was hoping for more than two replies back...can you tell I was bored yesterday... See you guys in November!

Jim Segner! Now there's a name from the way-back machine! How you doin'? I've still got the now-ancient pic of your altered on my now-ancient (and outdated) Introduction to Bracket Racing page! LOL http://www.staginglight.com/guide/ET.html

Every Division is different. Sadly, there are a large number of tracks that do not have an entry-level class, particularly down south.

The advantage is only in your head. I have compared over 400 runs that I have made with either a button or off the foot and I see .005 difference on the average. I will say that there are alot more fliers off the foot. As far as adjustable buttons...you're allowed to adjust your air pressure aren't you? Your footbraking launch RPM, the front end travel of your car, your timing? The button is no different than all those things except for the fact that it is easier to adjust. If you can't hit the tree off the foot, putting a transbrake in your car will not make you superman! So why do I prefer to race with a button?? I am lazy, I enjoy the hit of the transbrake when the car launches, and I can't foot feed leaving at 3800 RPM at those tracks where the rollout is as loose as some girls I used to know back in high school...

Hey, watch what you say about Pageland! I've left at 3800 off the foot there... (and still take a couple bumps!)
